ABOUT

Veda Thozhur Kolleri uses drawing, video, photography, writing and found material to access the physical contexts in which she lives and works. Her work is primarily concerned with (our) mortality and her practice manifests as a rehearsal of loss.

She presents her work in the form of immersive installations made of components that simultaneously resist and embrace the passage of time. Her practice stems from observations of processes of decay, sedimentation, accretion, accumulation, growth, and the disappearance of apparent signs of life. She works with organic found objects, papier mache, plaster, found glass, iron, video, and uses drawing as a means to imitate these processes - by overlaying, overdrawing; layering.
